The creative and artistic impulse exists within each of us. It is part of our spirit. Even if you haven't picked up a paintbrush since grade school, your desire to express yourself creatively is expressed daily, throughout your home and garden, even in the choices you make when you get dressed.

In my workshops we practice communicating visually while expanding our definition of art, which in turn helps us explore our own creativity. The environment nurtures a safe haven for this process, so my classes are encouraging, free from judgment, and punctuated with Chardonnay breaks. Tapping into our inner resources, we can begin to explore and discover.

About the Workshop:

One Day Creations - Dynamic Abstracts

Always wanted to do abstract painting, but don't know where to begin? Experience the hands-on demos, techniques and basic formulas, compositions and color techniques to create more meaningful abstracts. This intense, concentrated workshop emphasizes intuitive painting where you will create many works of art for the 21st Century.

Variations in materials and experimentation using acrylic paint and mediums. We will create paintings and collage on paper and canvas.

Be prepared to paint looser, bolder, freer lighter and more intuitively. This workshop is a serious approach for those who have a great sense of humor and a positive attitude.

You will be able to translate ideas into a finished painting and find ways of working that are unique and personal.

You leave with finished work ready to hang in your home.

This class is for all experience levels. I provide all your painting materials,tools, and the essentials - lunch, fruits, chocolates, and Chardonnay.

This workshop is an experience you will want to share. The intuitive painting exercise is designed for the beginner or those who wish to expand upon their existing skills. Versatile, fast-drying and easy to clean-up, acrylics are ideal for busy people who want to learn to paint.

Engage in experimental mark-making, painting and mixed media techniques to push your creativity and skills to a new level. Discover new approaches to creating expressive, nonobjective works of art. Experiment with washes, layering, glazing, lifting pigment, and texturing. Learn magical color combinations, tried and true compositions, and various methods to apply paint (besides brushes). There are no rules or mistakes in this workshop - just enjoyment.
